Michael Franks dedicated this album to the memory of Antonio Carlos Jobim, but it's neither Franks' best effort nor particularly evocative of the great Brazilian composer. Just what I would expect from Michael Franks. This is a wonderful tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim. Calm, peaceful, and heartfelt is how I would describe this CD. All the songs have that lazy, rainy day momentum. Great music to listen to. I just bought this CD in June , however, it was released in It's timeless. It never gets old/5(36).

Since I first heard Sleeping Gypsies" in , Michael Franks music has been like a soundtrack that has colored the good and bad times of my life. Many of my friends who love his music feel the same way. It was music to fall in love to in the 70s, and every decade since. Abandoned Garden is just one of my favorite releases by this stellar jazz.
